Semarang, April 2026 — The Master’s Program in Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University, through the Undip Global Classroom (UGC) program, successfully organized a series of international lectures featuring Prof Madya Ts. Dr. Suhaila Binti Abd Halim from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The lectures were conducted online on 16 April 2026 and 23 April 2026, attracting undergraduate and postgraduate students, lecturers, and researchers interested in mathematics and its applications.
The first session, held on 16 April 2026, focused on Advanced Linear Algebra, covering topics such as vector spaces, subspaces, basis, dimension, and linear transformations. Participants gained insights into the importance of these concepts as fundamental structures in higher mathematics and their applications in data analysis, computer science, cryptography, and mathematical modeling.
The second session, held on 23 April 2026, discussed General Vector Spaces (Coordinates and Bases Dimension). During this lecture, participants explored the concepts of coordinates, bases, and dimensions in greater depth, strengthening their understanding of vector space theory and its role in modern mathematical studies.
In addition to theoretical discussions, Prof. Suhaila introduced participants to the practical implementation of vector space concepts using Google Colab. Through computational demonstrations, students learned how abstract mathematical ideas can be visualized and analyzed interactively, making the learning process more engaging and accessible.
Both sessions were highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and raising questions regarding theoretical concepts and real-world applications. The enthusiasm shown throughout the program reflected the growing interest in advanced mathematical studies and computational approaches.
Through the Undip Global Classroom program, Diponegoro University continues to strengthen international academic collaboration and promote globally oriented education.
