Scientific Publication Session with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tutut Hermawan

Diponegoro University, through the Undip Global Classroom (UGC) program, successfully organized a series of online academic sessions on 17 April 2026 and 1 June 2026, featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tutut Hermawan as the keynote speaker on the topic “Scientific Publication”. The activities were attended by students, lecturers, and researchers who were interested in strengthening their academic writing and publication skills in an international academic environment.

During the sessions, Dr. Tutut provided comprehensive guidance on the process of preparing scientific articles for publication. The discussion began with identifying research problems and developing research ideas, followed by organizing research findings into a clear and systematic manuscript. Participants were introduced to the standard structure of scientific papers, including the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion sections. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining clarity, coherence, and logical flow throughout the writing process.

In addition to manuscript preparation, the sessions highlighted important aspects of scientific publishing, such as publication ethics, proper citation practices, journal selection strategies, and the peer-review process. Dr. Tutut also shared practical recommendations for improving manuscript quality and avoiding common mistakes that often lead to article rejection. These insights provided participants with a better understanding of how to prepare research outputs that meet international publication standards.

The activities encouraged active interaction between the speaker and participants through question-and-answer sessions covering journal indexing, publication challenges, and effective scientific communication. Through these UGC sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical experience in academic writing and scholarly publishing. The program reflects Diponegoro University’s ongoing commitment to supporting the development of research competencies and fostering a culture of scientific publication among students and academics at both national and international levels.
